According to JAMA (The Journal of the American Medical Association) estimated 80 to 90 percent of visits to the doctor are stress-related but only less than 3% of doctors talk to their patients about how to reduce stress.
January 31st is the first part of a 3-part series focusing on Stress reduction, stress management and a deeper understanding of what stress really is. We will look at ways to address stressful moments using breath and movement. And we will dive deep into ways to approach stress throughout our lives. This 3-part series will highlight specific yogic practices that can help reduce stress and give you tools to navigate life. We will dive deep into Pranayama and poses and movement practices as well as explore our understanding of stress. As well as using ancient practices to transform modern life.
The Jan 31, 2026 Workshop will focus on "What is Stress." 10:00am - 12:30pm
The Feb 28, 2026 Workshop will focus on "Pranayama - Breath Work." 10:00am - 12:30pm
The March 28, 2026 Workshop will focus on "Using our Practices to De-Stress." 10:00am - 12:30pm
Feel free to attend all three or just one or two. Each workshop is a standalone workshop that will enhance the other 2.

Each month Cheryl offers a deeply healing & relaxing Restorative Yoga class followed by a Nidra Meditation. Restorative Yoga is a restful practice that holds yoga poses for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the union of body and mind. We follow the Restorative class with a Nidra Meditation, a gentle but powerful meditation technique. Theme: Root Into Your Power
Intention: I rise from a steady foundation.
This week we root down to rise up. Warrior I teaches us that strength begins with foundation — in the body, in the breath, and in the choices we make.
We explore grounding, stability, and the quiet power that comes from standing tall.

WEEK 2 — Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II)
Theme: Presence + Discernment
Intention: I see clearly and choose wisely.
Warrior II invites us to stand in clarity — grounded in the past, focused on the present, and open to what’s ahead.
This week we explore gaze, direction, and the power of choosing where we place our energy.
“Where your attention goes, your energy flows.”
WEEK 3 — Warrior III (Virabhadrasana III)
Theme: Strength in Balance
Intention: I trust my center.
This week we explore balance — not as a perfect shape, but as a relationship with breath, focus, and inner steadiness.
Warrior III teaches us to trust our center and move with intention.
“Balance is not something you find. It’s something you create.”

The Chattanooga Yoga Center's Annual Weekend Yoga Retreat is a much anticpated event! The friendships formed on these trips are unmatched. The laughter is constant. The included spa treatment of your choice is always relaxing. There's an indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna.
