According to JAMA (The Journal of the American Medical Association) estimated 80 to 90 percent of visits to the doctor are stress-related but only less than 3% of doctors talk to their patients about how to reduce stress.
February 28th is the first part of a 3-part series focusing on Stress reduction, stress management and a deeper understanding of what stress really is. We will look at ways to address stressful moments using breath and movement. And we will dive deep into ways to approach stress throughout our lives. This 3-part series will highlight specific yogic practices that can help reduce stress and give you tools to navigate life. We will dive deep into Pranayama and poses and movement practices as well as explore our understanding of stress. As well as using ancient practices to transform modern life.
The First Workshop on February 28, 2026 (This was rescheduled due to weather) will focus on "What is Stress." 10:00am - 12:30pm
The Second Workshop on March 28, 2026 (New Date) will focus on "Pranayama - Breath Work." 10:00am - 12:30pm
The Third Workshop (Date TBA) will focus on "Using our Practices to De-Stress." 10:00am - 12:30pm
Feel free to attend all three or just one or two. Each workshop is a standalone workshop that will enhance the other 2.

Students will explore standing balance poses, mindful transitions, and breath-led focus to strengthen the feet, ankles, legs, and core while cultivating mental steadiness. Modifications, props, and optional progressions are offered throughout.
Week 1: Grounded Foundations
Stability, fundamental balance skills and alignment.
Breath awareness, foot activation, ankle mobility, grounding cues, drishti and breath.
Standing Strength & Balance.

Week 2: Steady in Transition
Controlled movement core engagement.

• Chair to kundalinis descent
• Half Moon prep and variations
• Emphasis on entering and exiting poses with control
Week 3: Integrated & Confident
Full-body balance with strength and resilience.
Progressive standing movements with balance prep.
Integrated Standing Work.
• Eagle
• Warrior III variations
• Arm balances

Each month Cheryl offers a deeply healing & relaxing Restorative Yoga class followed by a Nidra Meditation. Restorative Yoga is a restful practice that holds yoga poses for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the union of body and mind. We follow the Restorative class with a Nidra Meditation, a gentle but powerful meditation technique.
